GDPR Privacy Policy document as applied to Marian Lennon School of Ballet

We as a school must look at the data, we hold on all our members and make sure that we are data protection compliant.

Information we collect.

We collect personal information from you directly when you contact us with an enquiry on the services we provide. Certain personal information is required because of any contractual relationship we have with you as failure to provide this information may prevent or delay the fulfilment of these obligations.

The personal information that we collect.

We will collect the personal information that we need to provide you with our services, such as:

  • Personal details (First name and surname of parents/guardians, Child’s first name and surname, adult student’s first name and surname)
  • Contact details (email addresses and mobile phone numbers of parents/Guardians and adult students)
  • Health information where necessary to ensure the safety of the Child or Adult student allowing us to provide our service in a safe manner (including physical disability, intellectual disability, medical conditions)

Where you provide sensitive personal information to us voluntarily, we will assume that we have your consent to use that information in connection with the purpose for which it has been provided.

How we use your personal information

We only use the personal information that you provided to enable us to provide our service in a safe manner.

We use the personal information to

  • Contact you with questions and other information regarding the services we provide to you.
  • Ensuring our records are kept accurate and up to date.
  • Send messages about services that may be of interest to you.
  • Comply to legal obligations to which we are subject.

We must have a legal basis to process your personal information. In most cases the legal basis will be one of the following:

  • To fulfil our contractual obligation to you, for example to ensure that invoices are issued correctly, and for ensuring you can access our premises when required.

  • To meet our legitimate interests so that; we can provide the service you request; our service functions correctly in relation to your expectations; any complaints or concerns can be promptly relayed to you; we can respond to any questions or concerns you might have, and our records are kept up to date and accurate.
  • Send you direct electronic marketing, text messages to the extent you have consented to receiving such messages in accordance with applicable law.

Your rights

You have the right to request access to the personal information that you have provided through the enrolment process, update or correct your details, opt out of receiving information from us or request that your personal details are deleted from our system at any time by emailing marianlennonschoolofballet@gmail.com

We will treat all such requests in accordance with applicable local law.

Providing information to a third party

In general, we do not share your personal information with third parties other than service providers acting on our behalf (for example examination bodies) unless we have a lawful basis for doing so. This may mean that we must share your personal information with these third parties. When we share your personal information in this way, we request documentation that appropriate
measures are in place at our service provider to keep your personal information secure. From time to time, we may disclose personal information in response to a court order, subpoena, government investigation, government regulatory body, or as otherwise or permitted by law.

Information security

We have implemented generally accepted standards in technology and operational security to protect personal information from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction.

We require all employees/ contractors and principals to keep personal information confidential and only authorised personnel have access to this information. We will retain your personal information in accordance with our data retention policy.

We will retain your personal information in accordance with our data retention policy which set out data retention periods required or permitted by applicable law.

Information transfer

Your personal information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in a country other than the one in which it is provided. When we do so, we transfer the information in compliance with applicable data protection laws. Where the transfer is to a country outside the EEA we use the European commissions approved standard contractual laws.
