Marian Lennon School of Ballet

I have been dancing with Marian for 18 years and counting, performing in shows and undertaking RAD examinations in both ballet and modern. Marian is extremely enthusiastic and passionate about dance, encouraging every dancer she teaches to achieve their potential. She has trained ballet at many levels, from primary to college students, and is very professionally mannered. I would recommend Marian as a teacher for both younger and older students wishing to learn to dance, whether they wish to dance recreationally or for further progression.

When I was five years old, I joined my local ballet school to start my dream of becoming a ballerina princess. From that first day, I worked my way up through not only the RAD grades, but also the iconic characters in our bi-annual show in the Dríaocht Theatre. The bunnies; the bumblebees; the poppies and the dolls. As I got older my love for ballet flourished and Marian knew I was on track for further education. She placed me in extra classes with older girls and soon enough I was auditioning for Inchicore College of Further Education. Throughout my time in Marian Lennon’s School of Ballet in Blanchardstown I learned far more than any grade syllabus. I learned self discipline, fine motor skills (sewing countless shoes and costumes is no easy feat) and the joy of movement. The seventeen years I spent with the Marian Lennon School of Ballet hold a special place in my heart. The buzz of a show, or the nerves of an exam and the countless hours spent preparing in between. I would hope that every child would get an opportunity to have the experiences I did under Marian’s expert guidance.

My two daughters have completed all their RAD grades under the tutorship Marian, they were always well prepared and achieved particularly good results. They also thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the shows where they got to perform a variety of dancing styles. Marian is an excellent teacher and both of my daughters loved dancing with her.

I can highly recommend Marian Lennon’s School of Ballet. My daughter has been attending for the last 12 years since she was three years old. Marian runs her classes in a very interactive, enjoyable, and educational way. My daughter loves her ballet classes and has recently started zoom ballet classes with Marian which I can highly recommend. Marian is in an incredible teacher. I have danced under the tutorship Marian for over 20 years and have loved every aspect of my dance journey with her. From the wonderful shows where every child gets to fulfil their dream of being a Ballerina on stage, to completing all the Royal Academy of Dance grades. Marian encourages every student no matter what level they may be at and I am incredibly grateful she has shared her love of dance with me.

I attended my first ballet class at the age of four with Marian. It was just as magical to me as I had dreamed, and it very quickly became my favourite part of the week. Marian trained and guided me patiently through the years and was so supportive when I spoke to her about auditioning for full time training in transition year at Inchicore College of Further Education. It was here that she became my course director and my training intensified. I also worked with Marian to complete my work experience and that was invaluable to helping me become the teacher I am today. Having completed my leaving certificate I returned to the Dance course with Marian and achieved my ballet and modern teaching qualifications which allowed me to become a teacher at The Marian Lennon School of Ballet. Marian has had a huge influence on my life since I walked into her class all those years ago and I am lucky to be able to call her a friend now.
